Simon Finn - Chartered Structural Engineer
Simon has over twenty years’ experience in structural engineering, initially starting his journey designing structures for the water industry, then moving into the world of buildings. Simon has led multidisciplinary design teams on large projects ranging from schools and hospitals to casinos and retail. Simon has in depth experience in using steel framing.
Over recent years Simon and his family relocated to Christchurch where he has developed a passion for forensic assessment of earthquake damaged structures and has quickly become one of New Zealand’s leading experts in this field.
In his spare time Simon loves building models with his kids and, being a child of the 80’s he is also a keen gamer.

Dean McCabe - Senior Structural Engineer
Dean recently joined FCEL and brings with him a wealth of experience gathered in Christchurch over the last 30 years. Dean is a chartered professional engineer in both structural and geotechnical engineering. Dean has cross discipline experience which helps to add efficiency in our designs as well as value for clients.
Dean has worked for both large and small consulting firms in Christchurch therefore has extensive local knowledge and experience. Dean has designed structures using many different materials with particular strengths in low rise buildings including hill site structures and retaining walls .
In his spare time Dean can be found at his local golf course and also enjoys working on his motorbike and mountain biking . FCEL are fortunate to have Dean on board to expand our capacity and capabilities.

Leanne McAdam - Project Technician
Leanne has over 15 years’ expertise across a varied range of industries including Legal, HR, Project Management and Engineering.
Leanne combines all of these talents in her role as a Project Technician where she supports the Finesse team with all appointment and scheduling, preparation of reports, proof reading, grammar, dictaphone typing and any other tasks as required.
Outside of work Leanne loves to spend time with her family and friends, although her two young children keep her pretty busy. When time allows, Leanne indulges in arts and crafts and loves to have music going all the time.

Kathryn Finn - HR and Accounts Co-ordinator
Kathryn has a degree in Psychology and Sociology, and a graduate diploma in HR Management.
As well as being the HR and Accounts Co-ordinator for Finesse, Kathryn delivers training on various different topics within HR and Customer Service.
When not working, Kathryn enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids and dog. She also enjoys going to the gym and finding new places to eat.
