‍Senior Structural Engineer

Finesse Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Christchurch based team, replacing a valued team member who is moving on after many years.

This is an opportunity to step into a well-established role, working across a range of residential, commercial and industrial projects, and contributing to the continued delivery of practical, high-quality engineering solutions. The role will also involve supporting our Chartered Structural Engineers in forensic assessments and expert witness work.

As Finesse is a small company, we are looking for someone who has an interest in all elements of business including project and client management. The individual should be motivated and able to manage their own projects under mentorship from a CPEng.

‍ ‍The right person will have the following skills and attributes;

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Strong report writing ability

·         Attention to detail

·         Able to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines

·         Ability to work autonomously or in a team

·         A good understanding of design codes, standards, and NZ legislation

·         Experience in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings

·         At least 5 years’ experience in similar roles in New Zealand

·         Able to manage a project from proposal stage to final delivery

·         Working towards CPEng status

·         Willingness to support business development and client relationships
